TheCousinShow (2020)

Overview

TheCousinShow is a GTA machinima series from 2020, created by Rylee Simpson and Chandler Dunn, and Rylee's first machinima. Its YouTube channel pitches it as the story of Ivan and Dimitri, two cousins who have completely different personalities.

It predates TheCousinChronicles and shares its two leads, but it is a separate project: it used its own versions of Ivan and Dimitri and its own continuity, so it is not an early chapter of TCC's story. It is also not a 5-Star Films production. The wiki lists it under MISC as early, out-of-band context, and for cross-references such as cast and easter eggs.

Format

The show was planned to run for 40 episodes but ended early, after three seasons. Each video's title shows its season: Season 1 episodes are titled TCS Movie, Season 2 episodes TCS2 Movie, and Season 3 episodes TCS3 Movie. Episodes run roughly ten minutes each.

The channel holds a few dozen videos in total. Season 1 includes TCS Movie: Moving to Los Santos!, and Season 3 includes Love Without A Cupid, We Have Company, Forlorn, Broken and Bye Bye Stink, Hello Pink!. The channel also has a trailer, and a trailer for a cancelled spin-off, TheCousinShow Sparkle.

Cast

Besides Ivan and Dimitri, Sam Harris was also in the show. Sam was designed by Tyler Vlacich, who voiced him in TheCousinShow; when TCC began casting, the role was offered to Vlacich first, but he declined, and it went to Tony Parrish. Its creators, Rylee Simpson and Chandler Dunn, are also credited in the show; both were 15 years old while it was running.

In the story

TCC sometimes nods to the show: for example, an easter egg with Autumn Jones in TCC (Season 2, Episode 14: Eternally Shunned) - Clara Wright voiced her on TheCousinShow, and LunafreyaVA played the TCC beat. That is a meta reference, not a claim that both shows occupy one continuity.
